Challenges

This is happening around the neighbourhood.
An elderly is using a umbrella to walk.
He is also holding a plastic bag , probably containing food.

The elderly is walking home after buying lunch.
He have to walk a long distance.

Roads are not equal.
There are steps along the way, which is difficult for elderly.
Elderly will feel tired after walking for so long.
They cannot sit down especially in the middle of nowhere.
Even if they can, they have to find seats and they also need support when they sit.

Their bones and joints are weak .

Is not easy to walk for so long.

1. The elderly have to stand.
2. Bend his body as the umbrella is not long enough.
3. Look out for vehicles.
4. Walk to the food court.
5. Cross the road.
6. Bend and keep on walking.
7. Queue for food.
8. Stand while waiting for his turn.
9. Carry the packet of food.
10. Walk back home.
11.  Tired after walking for long distance.
12.  Wants to sit down and rest.
13. Find for bench.
14. Bent and sit down.

Elderly Needs ~

                                                                                         http://agelessvoice.net/

Physical Needs :

Elderly have problems with walking due to weakness, joint problems or unsteadiness, often leading to falls, or difficulties with the activites of daily living .
This is happening in a old folks home .
At the old folks home , there are other elderly too .
The old woman using the rails to support herself .

The rails is there for the old woman to walk with a strong support .
Elderly might fall as they are too weak , they might be playing some simple games to excercise themselves.
Volunteers there will help to take care of them .

Why there's no people helping the old lady to walk?
What if she is outside and no rails to support her from walking?
If she fall on the streets, who will be there to help?
Can something be use for her to walk properly?
I wonder is she scared of falling and is she feeling tired from using so much strength .

Intellectual Needs :

Incontinence of urine or bowel .
The elderly is rushing to the toilet .
He is wearing a sleeping gown and holding his abdominal area .

He might be sleeping just now but cannot control his urine/bowel and have to rush to the toilet .
He is holding his abdominal area is because he is really urgent and trying to control .
He might wet his pants as his motion is slow or he cannot get up from the bed.

Is it really hard to control the urine?

What if he cannot manage to wake up and then wet his pants?
What can be use so that he can have a comfortable sleep without worrying about anything?
What if his motion is slow?
I wonder if he is feeling worried as if he wet his pants it will be very troublesome.

Emotional Needs :

The Chinese man is sitting alone on the bench .
He have no one to talk to.

He might get lost. If he fall , nobody will be there to help him. As nobody talks to him , he might speak to himself and people who passed by might think that he is crazy, trying to stay away from him.

Why is he alone?
Where is his family members?
Do he have any friends?
Is the elderly homeless?
I wonder is he feeling lonely.

Social Needs :

Two old man are playing chess and another old man is watching them play .
This is happening at a neighbourhood .
There are chairs available for the old mens to sit . Tables and the stuffs needed to play chess are available too .

They have someone to talk to and share their feelings.
The elderly might have fun and go home with a smile.
They might quarrel if they are not playing a fair game.

What if they quarrel and nobody is willing to stop them or even solve the problem, even if it is just a game?
What if the elder men feel like going to the toilet?
By playing a game and spending their day there will they feel better?
I wonder are they feeling better after playing together and sharing their thoughts.
At least they have friends to talk with .

Future Phone

How will the future phones be like?

Back to the past...?

Why back to the past? By the future , these phones will be very cheap and affordable. As it used to be a trend, why not we make it trend in the future too ~ It is very handy too , even if the phone is lost , we still able to buy another one for replace. The phone battery can last very long .

Or..?

A phone which is transparent and waterproof? This design is really fascinating as it is touch screen too, which is the latest trend till today. It look special . Most phones cannot last once water enter the phone, but this can still be use even when it is wet. It's design is really thin, people these days create phone as thin as possible like Iphones , this phone might be the most thin in the future. I would like to have a phone like that.
